Primary Purpose/Objectives of the Job:
Focus of this position is to Oversee the implementation and maintenance of current recognized HACCP based Dietary Supplement and Food Safety Quality Management systems.
Educate production personnel on Good Manufacturing Practices and monitor the food safety & quality systems.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development, administration, implementation & maintenance of recognized HACCP based Food Safety & Quality Systems
- Performing on-the-floor surveillance inspections (Routine Sanitation and GMP Facility and Grounds Inspections, Glass and Brittle Plastic, others as assigned).
- Responsible for document reviews, on documents such as cleaning and activity logs
- Performs document management, such as the logging, filing, and organization of batch records, logbooks, and training and calibration records.
- Responsible for tracking activities for deviations, CAPA, Internal Audit open actions (others as assigned)
- Supports non-complex Quality Programs such as Deviations, CAPA, and Supplier Assessments
- Support inspection and disposition of customer returns
- Support Internal Audit activities under oversight of SQF Practitioner or Manager
- Supports material recertification efforts and maintenance of procedures and policies and SQF program verification as requested

- Participate in functional projects identified in the quality program

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge and Experiences: (essential to the position)
- Education level: Bachelor of Science
- Preferred areas of study: Food Science, Food Technology, or Nutrition
- 1 or more years of experience working in an FDA/ SQF regulated field
Essential skills/knowledge:
- Organized, project management skills, collaborative, leadership, experience with customers and suppliers.
- Alternate relevant education and / or experience may be considered.
